My Favorite Logo of All-Time

My favorite logo is the "Sun King" design created for the long-defunct National Airlines in 1968, as part of its "Instant Florida" advertising campaign. This design just had it all: simple yet elegant and sophisticated, while at the same time being able to reflect on the core business of an airline that primarily flew back-and-forth to Florida from the northeast and California. Sadly, this logo can no longer be seen as National Airlines was absorbed into Pan Am in 1980, and that airline went under in the 1990s.
The orange and yellow color scheme is beautiful, and exudes warmth, totally in line with the airlines "Instant Sunshine" theme. Luckily, I had the privilege of flying on a short National flight from LAX to San Diego in 1977. That was back in a much different time in the airline industry...when there were dozens of airlines and the passenger usually had a choice of airlines to fly. One also had the luxury of even being fed meals in Coach on domestic flight. Those were the days.
In today's airlines, it's hard to say which airline has the most attractive logo. The logo for Northwest Airlines is rather classic looking. I've never liked the logo of Delta Airlines for some reason...this is an example where classic simplicity doesn't work, at least for me. Continental Airlines has a nice futurist globe as their logo which is rather nice.
Another good design was the logo of Piedmont Airlines, which existed from the 1940s until it was absorbed into USAir, later to become USAirways.
