Logo Development Process

InStrata, LLC, wanted a design that reflected a symbiosis of different layers of management in a corporation (what a mouthful). We immediately thought of one concept involving the geological term "strata," sort of like the layers of rock and soil in the earth. The designs below are the first drafts that we did for the client. While the client t liked the designs he wanted something less related to geology.

Below if the next concept. Okay, this design is a little bit too futuristic looking...like something on the "Jetsons." We decided to jettison this and try again.

Below is the fourth concept, and the one that the client chose as the final design. The theme is fairly simple...linear stacks representing layers of management, around the letter  "I." This design ended up being more functional in nature, but the client was pleased with the end product. We worked hard to clear up some alignment issues in this logo.

This particular design uses only one color, which can save a ton of money when it comes time to print. The lighter blue you are seeing is just a tint of the main shade of blue. This is a graphic design trick used to simulate different colors when in fact only one color is being used.
