Logo Styles

There are three broad styles that can be used for your logo: text logos, symbol logos and combination logos. The logos below reflect the different style types that we designed for one company, SureiS, located in California.

Text Logo

Many firms opt for a logo that is font-based. A unique font combined with the right colors can create a sharp-looking design. A text logo is the simplest form of logo and sometimes this can be a great option. This type of design can give you a "Fortune 500" look...even if your firm only consists of a few employees. Multi-billion dollar companies such as Microsoft and Ford use this style.

Symbol Logo

If you know who Tiger Woods is then you know what a "symbol" logo is. This type of design consists of just a design standing on its own without text. Only the largest corporations (like Nike in the image below) can get away with this type of design. They have the advertising budget to market this symbol for their brand. When we see the swoosh on Tiger's cap we know that this is the Nike logo. Important note: You should almost never use this type of logo for your firm unless you have a multi-billion dollar ad budget.

Combination Logo

This is the the most common type of logo, with some sort of design reflecting what the company does, along with the name of the firm as part of the logo. The design below has patch cable (used in computer networking) as an integral part of the design. This is the design that SureiS went with.
