Stray RGB-Objects
You have the design that you want after countless revisions and now it's ready to print. It's time to prep for mistakes and for issues that can cause problems. The first thing you want to do is to check for colors in the design and check for any RGB-colors. RGB-colors do not work in linotronic printing. The RGB color system is great for the Internet and your local printing but it's a disaster for professional printing.
Use the File: Document Info: Objects. This provides a wealth of information about the object. Look at the settings for RGB Objects. This should be "0." In the instance below it is "1." In this case it is necessary to find the stay object and convert it to the correct color coordination setting.

Un-embedded Fonts
The File: Document Info menu provides a wealth of information about what is happening in your artwork. The first thing to check for is for the presence of fonts embedded in your document. If you are using a True Type font that the print shop does not have, this can spell trouble. The answer to this potential problem is to embed fonts with your file, or, to create outlines. In the instance below, two fonts are embedded in the logo design: Helvetica (Type 1) and Twentieth Century Poster. When your convert these fonts to outlines they become independent drawing objects.
